For those of you who did not mail in your ballot already or vote early, TODAY is the LAST day to vote.
So go do it! Lines or not. Rain or not. This may be one of the most historic elections ever and you need to be part of it. If you didn't mail in your absentee ballot, then you MUST take it to a polling place today in order to be counted (Saturday was the last day to mail in a ballot).
We now return you to your regularly scheduled programming (heh, like another 12 hours of election coverage and endless political commercials)...

I'm heading to the polls after I leave work this afternoon.
It is finally over. A hobby of sorts, politics has been something that has been very much a part of my life as long as I can remember. Sadly, this election season has seemed to peter out for me before it was over. I didn't like listening to either candidate long before the end came. I just sat there wishing they would say something I would like to hear. I'm tired of hearing how each believes the other is bad for the country. I'm tired of hearing about the "tax break for 95%" of us. I'm tired of hearing about poor choices in associations. I'm tired of hearing about Joe the Plumber or even Joe the Biden. I'm tired of lame politics that put blame on another party when both are responsible for the problems. I'm tired.
Tomorrow, if it all goes well, we'll have a new president-elect. Tomorrow, the lame campaigning will end. Tomorrow, can we focus on fixing problems? Can we actually do something that will solve the problems rather than do something that will make the man popular? I'm not holding my breath but I am hopeful.
You probably echo the sentiment of hundreds (if not millions).
I just want my TV programs back with commercials about cars and shaving cream and not about how bad one thing or person is. Negative politics does take it out of all of us.
As for fixing problems, we can hope that will happen. But I too am not going to turn blue in the face in the meantime. More than likely, in about six to nine months, I'll get to start studying a new set of tax regulations.
Ahh, job security -- keep it up, Congress, my wife wants to remodel the kitchen.
You see the silver lining... I laughed out loud as I read your statement about the new tax laws.
